Remembering Jesse Crust

Our friends in the Pasco, FL punk band The Horribles released their music video for "The Ballad of Jesse Crust" in 2022, a song they put together to remember a good friend, Jesse "Crust" Oettle. To make it, they encouraged friends to send in clips of them shotgunning drinks, since that was something he enjoyed.

Sister Slayla put together Rest in Pabst Fest, a show in Jesse's memory at Star Bar in Atlanta, GA, and we were proud to play it alongside a slew of other great bands who were all friends of Jesse. Halfway through the show, everyone went out back and shotgunned drinks once again in his honor.

Jesse was also our friend. He lived a crazy life, but he was there for his friends, and some of the funny stuff he'd get up to was part of the inspiration for our song "Jail Tonight." He was there at an early house show when we released our first single in 2017 and always encouraged us as a band from day one just as he encouraged so many others, so we're dedicating "Jail Tonight" to Jesse's memory. Shotgun a beer for him!

Shotgun a beer for Jesse
Shotgun a beer for you
Shotgun a beer for Jesse
'Cause that's what he'd want us to do!
