Back at the Melon Barn

We love playing The Melon Barn. It's that simple. Why, you ask? Because that place rules!

Freebird made the trip up with us, and since he's been killing it lately with his new brand Abrevity we brought him along (he actually drove the SUV so technically he brought us!) He jumped on stage for two songs off our new EP, "Slow Burn" and "Jail Tonight," and we even covered one of his songs "Hope So" just because, along with his current bassist Nick Moody. With no practice beforehand, because rock n' roll.

It had been awhile since the last time Anergy played Melon Barn, so Chops and Freebird decided to relive the moment with a photo op.

2019 --> 2022

It felt good to be back, as Melon Barn has always been one of our favorite venues to play. The crowd did not disappoint either, that was for sure! But even better was everyone at the venue. Not only will they provide a stage, sound system, and however many microphones you ask for, they'll even help you park your car when you get there! #1 status.

Over the years, we've had the pleasure of sharing the stage with several bands that cut their teeth at the Melon Barn, and they're all fantastic, take it from us. Curly Blue joined us in 2019 for a show at Tin Roof, and this past year we threw down with The Planks at Tua Lingua.

Besides great bands, they have awesome local food at the event, rad photographers and a super-legit sound guy. There's even a drag racing strip. So if you're in a band and you've never been to Greer, South Carolina, we highly recommend it. Seriously, don't think too much about it, just do it! They're wild out there.
